01Corporate overview

What SDIF does.

SDIF commits proprietary capital to digital-asset markets and to the operation of blockchain network infrastructure — principally on Solana — and studies those systems closely enough to operate them responsibly.

The company's activities fall into four connected areas: proprietary investment and trading in digital assets; staking and infrastructure on proof-of-stake networks; validator-related research and technical development; and research into network design and market structure.

These areas reinforce one another. Operating infrastructure produces first-hand knowledge of how networks behave under load and during change. Research turns that knowledge into a structured view of risk. And a proprietary capital base allows the company to act on that view without the constraints and conflicts that come with managing other people's money.

SDIF does not offer investment products, accept outside investors, manage third-party assets, or provide custody, exchange, brokerage or advisory services.

02Operating philosophy

Principles that govern the work.

These principles are applied in the company's internal policies; they are summarised here at a level appropriate for public disclosure. See also the investment philosophy and the founding letter.

  1. 01

    Proprietary capital only

SDIF deploys the company's own capital. It has no investors to report to and no clients to serve, which keeps incentives simple and accountability direct.

  2. 02

    Written before it is done

Authority, limits and procedures are documented before an activity begins. New strategies, venues or systems are not approved by default or by silence.

  3. 03

    Security as an operating requirement

Security and custody safeguards are considered in each activity from the outset rather than added after it is running.

  4. 04

    Long horizons

The company is structured to participate in networks over multi-year horizons, favouring durable infrastructure and understanding over short-term activity.

  5. 05

    Measured disclosure

SDIF explains how it operates without publishing positions, counterparties, wallet addresses, capital allocations or results.

  6. 06

    Compliance by default

The company seeks to comply with applicable sanctions, anti-money-laundering and tax requirements and engages outside counsel on regulatory questions.
